7 Great Questions to ask before Hiring a Bathroom Remodeling Company
A bathroom remodel is also a major investment to your home. With so many bathroom remodel contractors out there, it’s a good idea to ask those you trust for recommendations and read online reviews before making your decision. Here’s a list of important questions to ask before hiring a bathroom remodeling company.
#1: How long have you been in business?

#2: Do you have some examples of recent remodeling work?
In addition to doing some Internet research about the company’s past, you should ask to see before and after photos of recently completed remodels. We can answer any questions you might have pertaining to a remodel such as how long it might take, our experiences with past projects or simply what to expect. Check out our Facebook page for several bathroom remodels.
#3: Do you have references?
Online reviews are helpful, and you should certainly read them for any company you’re considering. Beware of companies that have nothing but 5-star reviews; most companies that have been in busy for years have had a few customer complaints. It’s important to know how the company handled those poor reviews. Did they address it quickly and provide a solution to the customer? Contractors should be happy to supply you with a list of references on our previous work. See what our customers say here.
#4: How much will it cost?
A remodeling company that won’t provide you with an estimate, or contractors who will only provide a wide range can potentially be an issue further down the remodel road. Many homeowners have been burned by remodelers who provide a guess only to come back halfway through the project to require additional funds in order to finish. Kangaroo Contractor will provide you with free estimate and go over any questions you might have regarding the work to be done.
#5: Are you licensed?
When you are planning to hire a bathroom remodeler, there are a few things you need to find out about them, and their company, before forging ahead with the work you need to be completed. Your bathroom is an important part of a home and as such, needs to have a reliable remodel contractor who is licensed and insured to handle the task. Hiring a bad contractor, or one who is not licensed or insured could end in one spending far more than necessary to fix the mess the first contractor made. A contractor should have valid and verifiable liability insurance that will protect you, the homeowner, or business owner if an accident happens at your home or business.
#6: Are you also insured?
The best advice we can give you is to only hire remodelers who are insured. That’s critical, because if an installer were to damage your house during the remodel without being insured, you would be on the hook to pay for it. Even if a company appears to have a squeaky-clean record, mistakes can happen. Be sure to request proof of comprehensive business liability insurance.
#7: Are you bonded?
If a company has bonded workers, it means that they have purchased a surety bond to protect the owners of homes they service. Surety bonds provide a fixed amount of liability protection, so if the workers fail to complete the job for some reason, the bond can provide compensation to you, the property owner. Rest assured Kangaroo Contractors is a bonded company.
