Proper Shingle Installation and How To Choose the Right Roofer

We are sharing before and after pictures of a roof we just completed in McKinney. The previous roofer failed to properly install the shingles correctly. In the photos you can see the error over the back bay window area. The shingles over the ridges are where this faulty installation is. The shingles are crooked. Not only this, but eventually, because of the way they were installed, there would have been leaks.

Make sure to do your research on the final roofer of your choice. Quality, experience, local and reputable are important factors when deciding.

Why Use A BBB Accredited Roofer?

Choosing a roofer is the very important first step of the roof replacement process. It is always strongly recommended by insurance companies to use a professional and local roofer who has been in business for awhile. They should have a good reputation and references. Their BBB rating should be an A+ at minimum. The BBB explains:

“BBB ratings represent the BBB’s opinion of how the business is likely to interact with its customers. The BBB rating is based on information BBB is able to obtain about the business, including complaints received from the public. BBB seeks and uses information directly from businesses and from public data sources.

BBB assigns ratings from A+ (highest) to F (lowest). In some cases, BBB will not rate the business (indicated by an NR, or “No Rating”) for reasons that include insufficient information about a business or ongoing review/update of the business’s file.

BBB Business Profiles generally explain the most significant factors that raise or lower a business’s rating.

BBB ratings are not a guarantee of a business’s reliability or performance.  BBB recommends that consumers consider a business’s BBB rating in addition to all other available information about the business.”
